Welcome to Ocean View! It's time to get serious about travel. Browse this website, pick up an idea, read about a trip worth taking. These stories are for you. Not enough here, on Ocean View? Click on the Travel Archives tab for direct links to Ocean, the blog. Each link there will give you pages and pages of travel notes and photos. Select your destination and off you go! Perhaps you want more than just another pretty website with quirky travel stories. Perhaps you want serious recommendations: where to stay, eat, hire a car. I provide these as well. Two tabs for you to consider: Ask For A View and Ingestibles.
Still not enough? I have had requests for photos from a number of you.
Wonderful. I am happy to oblige. And, I am about to make things quite easy
for you. As of January 20th, 2008, you will be able to purchase photos from both the website and from the blog. Museum quality paper prints, sent directly to you. Ocean View is expanding. Every month, I'll be bringing new images for you to glance at here, on the screen and to order for your office or home. And I have this promise for you. Call it the Ocean View promise (and disclaimer): every photo was taken by me, every book reviewed here has passed through my hands. Every room has had me testing the mattress and picking up the dust off the frame (I did that, just this September, in France! I took a tissue and wiped down the place. No one else had done it, may as well be me). I have tasted every dish, I have hiked, biked or driven past every sight described on these webpages. That your experiences may vary – that’s a given. I make no promises. But I do give dates and specifics and an Ocean View story for you to consider. Read and laugh. Or take note. Fact is, no one is paying me to write these stories. All Ocean Views are my own. But, I am also permitting select ads on the sidebars. And, if you click on them and buy a product, a service, an airfare, I get pennies. I like pennies. You can indeed support Ocean View by bookmarking the Save & Travel page and using the links there (or elsewhere) to Expedia, to Amazon, to Argus, etc. every time you are shopping through the Net. As pennies accumulate in the piggy, so the travel plans grow and the pages grow and the tips multiply and you save and I save and we all forge ahead, happily embarking on new and novel travel adventures. Of course, you can just read and buy nothing and go nowhere at all. I like readers. It’s a free ride, here on Ocean View. Again, welcome.
